AQUA is an easy-to-use Query and Reporting tool included at no charge in ASv6.2. It was also included in ASv6.1 but has been updated and improved in ASv6.2.
As well as being used as a Query and Reporting tool it is also an easy-to-use tool for working with DB2 tables. You can easily list your DB2 tables and view the data in them. You can also run DB2 commands to create DB2 tables, update them, or even delete them if you have the DB2 authority.
What is AQUA?
AQUA, or AS Query Assistant as it is also known, provides a simple and convenient way to view data in a tabular (rows and columns) format using a simple integrated user interface.
The data source for AQUA can be any of the following:
QMF SQL queries and AS queries can easily be converted to AQUA Query format using the supplied conversion tools.
To assist you in working with this data AQUA provides three objects:
AQUA also provides you with a Report facility. You can save the AQUA Query and AQUA Form associated with a report, and run them in combination to recreate the report.

Starting AQUA
To use AQUA under AS v6.2 no extra steps are required, because when AS v6.2 is installed AQUA is also installed.
